The new Tron movie, a sequel to the landmark film from the 1980's has garnered alot of attention from fans new and old. Surprisingly, one of the biggest buzz points has been the film score performed by French duo Daft Punk.

With the December 2010 release of the Tron Legacy film, it was hard to tell what generated the most excitement, the film itself or the soundtrack by French techno musicians Daft Punk. As soon as the first trailer was released from the film the buzz began to spread. The track featured in the trailer, eventually identified as "The Game Has Changed", set the internet ablaze with questions as to who had produced the score and if it would be featured in the film or was created for the Trailer only.

When it was revealed that the French DJ Duo Thomas Bangalter and Guy-Manuel de Homem-Christo, known as Daft Punk, were the composers for the film's score then things really started to hot up. In late October another trailer was released and contained the track "Derezzed", a term that refers to when something dies in the Tron computer universe. In early November there were various leaks, radio plays and releases of the tracks "End Credits" and "The Game Has Changed".

The final version of the soundtrack, released on December 7th 2010 a week before the film hit cinemas, is a glorious mixture of orchestral and electronic elements, a combination that techno musicians have used to great effect for years.
